10:59AM - An update
Dolly is doing well. I'm trying to get her into better shape now. She was in a very playful mood the other day, which was fun.
It's been reported to me that she is extremely friendly with humans, but can't be put out with other horses anymore, because she beats them up! I couldn't have guessed that. She's going back out with Athena and others this summer... we'll see how that goes. She can't beat up Athena; Athena is way too bossy. But if they don't get along all right, I'll have to move Dolly to yet another place. I hope that it works out, though, because it's sooo beautiful back there.
Wedding planning is going all right but is sometimes a little bit stresful. It's hard when I can't HAVE all of the input that I want at the moment that I want it (such as, hearing back from everyone invited), not to mention that I can't get a hold of the woman who is in charge of the reception site! Good grief. My dress won't come in for another month. The number of guests is ridiculously high...and we're not sure how it happened. We were trying to keep it super small, but apparently I have a lot of family friends... I honestly don't think that all of the people will fit on in the ceremony's area (it's rather small). Hmm.
That consumes a lot of my thoughts lately. Otherwise, I am reading bits of books, playing a computer game, learning Tae Kwon Do, trying to keep up with house chores, trying to keep up with Dolly and Sandy, keeping up with work, trying to help my mom with some of her work, and my stomach hurts constantly from a stupid intestinal bug that won't go away. Grr.
Hopefully there will be a time this month when I can post some pictures and video clips! I have a whole ton that I want to share. :)
More later!

11:34PM - Scumpy (Skumpy) Update
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
My thoughts are with Scumpy tonight because she will probably be "put to sleep" tomorrow.
I wish I had more pictures of her to share with you.
Instead, my plan is to share memories. This will be an on-going project. Please, if any of you met Scumpy, feel free to comment on this entry with any memories you have of her.
Thank you!
I'll only post a few memories tonight. One day, I will include photographs.
( I'll begin with the very first memories I have of Scumpy. )

11:57PM - Dolly update!
Hello,
This is a Dolly update!!!! There will soon be pictures and even video to accompany it!
Dolly was craaaazy today. Tim and I brushed & picked her hooves. Then I led her into the indoor arena, and she dropped down immediately and started rolling, before I had even closed the gate behind us. She tried to gallop off after getting up, but I needed to unclip the leadrope still so I held her back just long enough to take off the whole halter (the leadrope has grit in it, so I can't unconnect it from the halter in a hurry!). She RAN. And ran. And ran. And ran and ran and ran and ran and ran and ran and ran. And then rolled. And rolled. And ran. And rolled. ....
After I put her halter back on, she still wasn't focusing on me hardly at all. Another horse came into the arena and she looked like she wanted to flirt with the other horse. I think she was in heat. She kept making eyes at that horse, and ignoring me. I did get her to pay attention a little bit for backing up, and moving her hips away from me, and a few other simple tasks. But it was a struggle.
I am very glad that I got to exercise her today, though. :) She definitely needs it (and the training).
Oh, and I took a video clip of Dolly trying to eat Tim while he picked her hooves.
Tim and I went to Tae Kwon Do tonight.
rather guilty1:07AM - An update
Hello everybody,
I am still alive and well.
I have not had much time for updating, as you can see. Even now, I am in a hurry.
Sandy:
Sandy is well. I haven't had much time to spend with him lately. I brush him when I can, and my mom has been helping brush him when she can, too.
Dolly:
Dolly's mane, forelock, and tail have grown back! I have been feeding her pelleted beat pulp daily, as well as black sunflower seeds, corn oil (and treats as bribery) when I visit her, which isn't always very frequently right now. I swear that after the start of these feed items, her tail began to grow back (for those who don't know what I'm referring to, Dolly's tail hairs had been bitten out by a mare last year, and then the hairs didn't regrow inspite of trying many different things).
She is not muscled right now. That is entirely my fault, because I have not been finding the time to work regularly with her lately. I am sorry, Dolly.
( Pictures!!! )
Me:
I am doing all right. I've been busy with other things, because there is the option of doing too many wonderful things all of the time. That is why I have not been exercising Dolly enough lately. But soon, I think things will balance back out again. Well, they have to, because Dolly needs better than what I am giving her right now. And I can't live without horses. So, I will do better.
In fact, I think that what's happening is that I've been working on my *own* fitness instead of Dolly's. I have more muscle right now than I ever have in my whole entire life. (Next up, I'll have to work on my riding muscles.... :) )
I am doing really well in my relationship with
ice_wraith,Tim, I think. I try to do my share of chores. Cooking is the one area I know that I have skimped on so far. I'm going to begin a list of recipes soon, which I think will help.![]()
Here is a photo of us on Valentine's Day.
I am still employed, amazingly. That's good, because I need an income.
And, the most amazing thing of all is that I've been challenging my OCD tendancies an incredible amount lately. I've even gotten rid of some random items that I've held on to since I was ... somewhere around three years old. That's unheard of for me, for those of you who don't know me.
Okay, I will go to bed now. Goodnight.

9:36PM - Another (rare) update
Hello all,
I have not been online very frequently lately. It's strange how busy I've been. Planning a wedding is actually as time-consuming as rumours indicated...I honestly wouldn't have guessed that.
Sometimes it can be a little overwhelming -- for example, I have spent two days dress shopping (and I believe I know which one I will buy). It is a couple of hundred dollars which I feel kind of bad about spending on one article of clothing that I will likely only use once. ... Doesn't that seem weird? But wedding planning gets to be overwhelming when it's the main topic discussed for long periods of time. Although the topic is positive and can be fun to think about, there are also times when I would like to take a break and talk about something else for an evening.
In other news, my fiance and I found an apartment that we'll move into together relatively soon. I don't know how I'll handle it in some ways -- I am extremely attached to my parents' place. In the past, leaving my parents' place resulting in me dissociating and forgetting myself. But this time, we're going to go really slowly. I might take a whole month just to move items over and set up everything, and make positive associations with the new place.
It's in an amazing spot. The view is amazing, and it's on a lake that we'll have access to -- we can ice skate or ski on it in the winter, and swim or raft in the summer. It's close to the mountains, too, where we like to spend time.
Sandy is almost completely used to Tim now. I'm very glad about that. Dolly loves him, but then again, she is just very friendly with everyone. :)
I haven't gotten to see her very much lately. :( I have not been feeling very well in some ways. I'm very run down. There have been a lot of things that I've dropped (TEMPORARILY!!!) from my days in order to maintain the energy to think about this other stuff. In other words, I haven't had the energy to work with Dolly. :'( I'm going to see her tomorrow, though.
I'm going to take a class this semester, and I'm still working part time. To be honest, I'm surprised I'm still doing okay. I'm balancing so many things right now, it's just insane. I've started setting up really weird rules for myself just as preventative measures (such as, mandatory knitting times and stuff...that's one that probably doesn't sound very weird, but some of them would probably sound weird).
I haven't written in a long time -- it feels good to 'stretch my fingers' right now. :)
I think I'll go right now and look through some of my LJ-friends' recent journal entries! I haven't done that in faaar too long!

Hi everybody,
I have not had a chance to update in quite a while.
I was out of town for a family emergency.
I got engaged.
My brother and his girlfriend are visiting. I will post pictures of his visit at a later time.

5:18PM - Strangest revelation.
Hello everybody.
I am at home. My boyfriend is over right now. We were making dinner for my parents tonight. I ended up doing the dishes while he cooked. It's funny how that turned out. It seemed to make sense, though. It's a routine, monotonous task where I understand exactly what is expected of me. Cooking takes the ability to manage a large amount of variables in one's mind while the process is taking place. I don't do that very well. But I just never thought that that's the way it would turn out. I'm just like my dad; that's his job, too.

I made my first pancakes today. They were Peanut Butter Oatmeal Pancakes. It felt like quite an accomplishment. ^_^

Edit: GAH!!!!! I HATE having those roll-over links pop up when I move my mouse!!!!! Those of you who have seen me read know that I read by scrolling my mouse/highlighting along the screen as I read. These interupting and usually-unexpected pop-up-boxes are driving me CRAZY!!!!

12:48PM - Blue October
I own three songs by Blue October, and I like all three ("Into the Ocean" is one of my favorite songs ever).
I still kick myself for passing up the opportunity to see them in concert.
I passed it by due to sheer laziness -- I never bothered to look up where/how to purchase the tickets. ::sigh::
But I can still enjoy their songs on my computer.

I'll try to get some better outdoor photos tomorrow, and some better Scumpy photos tomorrow! She didn't want to go outside tonight, thus these indoor pictures/video.
12:04AM - Snow pictures, by request
Somebody requested that I take pictures of the snow.
These were taken at midnight tonight. I'll try to take some in the daylight soon...

11:07PM - My betta fish
Hi all,
I also own a betta fish. I haven't mentioned him before this because I was afraid he might not live long under my care. That's because back when I bought him, I didn't have very much energy. I fell in love with this betta in the pet store because he was amber-coloured on the body, and from the body outward, the fins went from amber to red, and all over he was tinted with metallic blues and greens. So he came home with me. That was...six months ago?
I took this picture of him yesterday. He isn't in the best shape because I have not been feeding him as frequently enough over the last two weeks, and I went too long before his most recent water change. But here he is:

4:23PM - Bad cooking experience...again
I typed this last night. This was my cooking experience last night. I was trying to make chocolate eclairs without using wheat flour, and without using refined sugar. I made a few errors, as you'll see.
